Dear Church Family,
Over the past few weeks, I have been visiting HOPE worldwide programs in Nigeria and India. My schedule has been packed, but I wanted to say how very proud I am of the many wonderful volunteers of HOPE worldwide who have stepped forward to serve those in need in the Northeast.
HOPE worldwide Mobilizing Volunteers to Help Hurricane Sandy Victims
HOPE worldwide's Community Service Division is actively responding to the disaster Hurricane Sandy. Immediately following the storm, volunteers from HOPE worldwide's Central Jersey and Tri-State Chapters began assisting in disaster relief efforts with our partners, including the American Red Cross.
Volunteers Needed : HOPE worldwide responds after Hurricane Sandy
Hurricane Sandy made landfall along the northeastern coast of the U.S.on October 29, devastating the New Jersey shore and areas across southern New England and the Mid-Atlantic.
Hurricane Preparedness and Response
As you all may know, HOPE worldwide partners with the American Red Cross in the area of disaster preparedness and response. In light of that, we are sending you the first comprehensive report on Hurricane Sandy from the Red Cross. It includes information and links on flood safety, hurricane safety, pet safety and power outage safety as well as information on a Red Cross Smart Phone app. which includes a local shelter directory and updates. We have also icluded a Red Cross hurricane preparedness checklist.

Brothers Find Hope

DilBahadur and SomBahadur are brothers who attend HOPE worldwide’s Asha Vidyashram School in Katmandu. Several years ago the boys and their mother had come to the city from the small village of Gadhi in the Udaipur District in Nepal. Their mother works very long hours to earn a meager living for her family. Nine year old DilBahadur does all the household chores as well as caring for his younger brother and makes sure they are both ready for school each day.

Act of Random Kindness - A Home Run for God!
Many of us enjoyed watching Steve Carrell in Evan Almighty. This modern adaptation of the story of Noah tells how one man, one family can help change the world. That change comes in the form of one A.R.K at a time (Acts of Random Kindness). This summer, a New Jersey Family changed our world in the Bahamas with their random act of Kindness.

Wayne, PA – HOPE worldwide volunteers in more than 40 sites across the nation are honoring the legacy of the September 11th victims and those who have risen in service over the last 11 years. More than 4,000 volunteers have served or will serve in projects planned throughout the month of September.
