The Chinese New Year is upon us again, and hundreds of millions of Chinese people have traveled home to celebrate this special time with their families.
The Spring Festival, the name of the celebration here in China, is a week-long holiday like no other. Every day has its own tradition, beginning with the New Year's Eve dinner, the largest meal of the year shared among close family.
Part 1: Pray a New Year Prayer for China
Watching the millions of Chinese people traveling across the country is a reminder of how much God has done to prepare this nation for his gospel. There are many people in this fast-growing country that are looking for God in their lives.
The story of Mr. T is one of the many examples of how God is preparing China. Mr. T is an ambitious young man that was full of eagerness and excitement as he traveled to university as a freshman in the fall of 2013.
However, Mr. T was looking for more than academic achievement and the excitement of university life. His biggest goal was to find a standard for his life. He knew that there was some truth in this world and that he had not found it.
By the grace of God, a new church planting was arriving in the city Mr. T moved to for university, at the very same time he was arriving for student orientation. Within weeks of arriving, God connected Mr. T and the disciples, and he began his long journey to faith in God.
Now Mr. T knows the truth he was searching for is God and his word, and is preparing to make the biggest decision of his life: to make Jesus his Lord.
Please join us in a New Year prayer for China. Pray that God will connect the disciples here with people searching for him. There are millions more just like Mr. T looking for God.
