The Northwest family of churches is excited to announce three new church plantings for 2015: Pullman, Washington, Eugene, Oregon and Fairbanks, Alaska. We would like to invite any disciples looking for a new missionary adventure to join in this effort. All three churches are scheduled to be launched in the summer of 2015. In October, the NW evangelists all met for a meeting in Pullman to plan and pray for these cities.
Pullman, Washington is located on the east side of the state, an hour and a half south of Spokane. It is a vibrant community of 32,000 people, ranked as the fifth fastest growing town in Washington. Pullman is a community with small town comforts and cosmopolitan amenities, home to an emerging high-tech market. It is also home to Washington State University, a PAC-12 school with nearly 28,000 people, making this a true college mission planting. Just 15 minutes down the road from Pullman is Moscow, Idaho, a town of 25,000 people and the prestigious University of Idaho, with 12,000 students. Eugene, Oregon is located in the heart of the state. Eugene is home to the University of Oregon, a school with 24,000 people, and is one of the most influential cities in the state. The unique combination of intellectual heft, spirited community, and down-to-earth realism make it an important city for our fellowship to have a church. Fairbanks, Alaska is just 198 miles from the Arctic Circle and is truly unique city that combines warm, sun-soaked summers, real Alaskan winters, a modern city feel with a small town attitude, and a culture of strong independence and adventure. As Alaska's third largest city, Fairbanks hosts approximately 32,324 residents. It is home to the University of Alaska Fairbanks, the state's oldest university, known for its nationally-acclaimed engineering programs. In addition, it boasts the annual World Ice Art Championships as well as some of the best viewing of the aurora borealis that the world has to offer.
