HOPE worldwide CEO Randy Jordan spent his MLK Day 2010 with the HOPE worldwide Southern California Chapter in Los Angeles painting school buildings, distributing 15,000 Red Cross fire safety door hangers throughout six counties and much more.
While in Los Angeles, Jordan shared with volunteers and partners about Dr. Mark Ottenweller's arrival in Haiti and the deteriorating conditions there.

2010 not only marks a New Year, but a renewed mind and heart for what some people consider the most important part of life – SERVICE. The volunteer results of this year’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service surprised not only all of us here at HOPE worldwide, but organizations, volunteers, churches, citizens, and communities across the United States.
$125,000 Donated So Far to HOPE worldwide for Haiti
Randy Jordan reports that people have already donated $125,000 to HOPEworldwide for relief work in Haiti. And many International Churches of Christ have committed to send special contributions over the next few weeks. This is by far the fastest response HOPEworldwide has received in a disaster relief effort.
A Haiti Relief Summit is planned for this Friday to plan the short term and long term aid.

A Future Without AIDS in Kenya
In Kenya, HOPE worldwide is helping people throughout the country get tested for HIV/AIDS.
Through voluntary counseling and testing, Kenyans are encouraged to know their HIV/AIDS status and educate themselves on how to prevent spreading the disease.
10,000 and Counting for MLK Day...
Wayne, PA - “Life’s most persistent question,” Dr. King once asked, “is 'what are you doing for others?'" This Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend, more than 10,000 HOPE worldwide volunteers are teaming up with the American Red Cross, along with various other corporations and community partners throughout the United States, to take a day on, not a day off. Volunteers have pledged to serve and meet needs of community members at 95 sites across the country. HOPE worldwide anticipates 10,000 of its volunteers serving more than 25,000 volunteer hours, impacting over 120,000 people through this one national day of service.
