Disciples from the International Churches of Christ around the United States set out on Saturday, January 18 to celebrate the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service with HOPE worldwide. As in past years, HOPE worldwide teamed up with the American Red Cross for volunteers to spread the word through their cities about fire prevention.
Here are some of highlights from the HOPEww efforts in Boston:
- 656 Volunteers (highest turnout to date)
- 28,552 hangers given out
- 25,997 homes reached
- 1038 people were talked to in regards to disaster prevention
- In addition, one of the Lawrence high school basketball teams were invited to come and join the troops, and FOX News came to the Dorchester site.
