CN was young and inexperienced. She saw no alternative but to marry her boyfriend and move in with his family. It was not a marriage made in Heaven. Kelvin was also young and did not know how to be a husband and father. When CN delivered their baby he went off to attend a football match!
God was watching though. Soon after this someone invited CN and Kelvin to the Hong Kong Church of Christ. Not only did they become Christians but one of the couples in the church "adopted" this young family and nurtured them. They taught and trained them in how to be a family. Kelvin and CN lived with this wonderful Christian couple for three years until they could get on their own two feet.
Kelvin graduated from college, found a job, and started leading his family. Ten years later the fairy tale goes on. Kelvin has a great job, a happy family, and even managed to buy his own home.
Kelvin and CN are so grateful for the way God has changed their life that they want to give back. They now serve in the youth ministry. They specialize in helping young rebellious teens find their way to God. What could have been a total tragedy a decade ago has turned into a powerful testimony of God's miracles and a convicting token of another Christian family's love!
A Prodigal Daughter Gives Back (CN, Hong Kong)
Written by Nadine Friday, 22 October 2010 00:28Asian families are very close knit. Children, no matter how old, are expected to completely respect their parents. When CN was fifteen years old she broke her parents' hearts by defying tradition and getting pregnant. Her father was furious and kicked her out of the house.
