Dear brothers and sisters of the ICOC family,

Jesus told his disciples to make disciples of all people. Disciples today excitedly seek opportunities to live this mission just like the first disciples did. The Kingston Church of Christ (KCOC) in Jamaica is delighted to present one such opportunity. In keeping with the Great Commission and the vision of the Caribbean churches of the ICOC’s family to “Reach Every Beach” by 2020, the KCOC is making plans to send a mission team to St. Lucia in October 2015.

stluciaSt. Lucia is an island in the Lesser Antilles on the eastern boundary of the Caribbean Sea. Its close neighbors are Barbados, St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Its beauty is a sight to behold, which makes it a favorite vacation spot for many people around the world. St. Lucia has a population of about 180,000 people, making it the largest English speaking country in the Caribbean without an ICOC church. In spite of a high immigration rate, the population continues to increase rapidly. Over 97% of the population belong to one Christian denomination or another, but most are Catholics. There are tens of thousands of St. Lucians living in other countries, some of whom have become disciples.  St. Lucia boasts the highest ratio of Nobel laureates produced with respect to the total population of any sovereign country in the world (Wikipedia).

St. Lucia very recently opened its job market to all Caricom citizens, permitting any member of the Caricom community, who is a graduate of a recognized university or who has a skill in one of several fields, to be employed in that country.

Members of the ICOC family who are interested in being a part of a mission team to St. Lucia, whether or not they have roots there, are asked to email This email address is being protected from spambots.
