Do you want to have a memorable Christmas? Then come and join us in Chennai for the winter edition of the HOPE Youth Corps (Dec 17 to 27)! Ten days of service at the Pudupattinam Center of HOPE, built in the aftermath of the 2004 tsunami which devastated the coast of Tamil Nadu.

HYC pic StevenThe Center hosts a large school for underprivileged children of the local fishermen's community. You will teach the children, improve the infrastructure of the school, reach out to the local community, and help set up a sustainable farming project.

You will spend Christmas day at the Arias Home of HOPE, an orphanage for children who are HIV+. You will also spend a day serving leprosy patients in a leprosy colony.

We welcome teens, campus students, singles, as well as families. We have spots for both male and female applicants. The minimum age is 15 for everyone, except US and Canada participants (minimum age is 18 unless accompanied by a guardian). The cost is $800 for the actual program but there is a significant discount for second and third world participants. You have to also purchase your ticket to and from Chennai. The dates are Dec 17th to 27th with the option of staying on for a youth and campus conference from the 27th to the 30th.
