What do Mississippi, Alabama and…China have in common? They have all been home to disciples who have signed up for an adventure! These disciples have gone to help with new church plantings in China and Alabama and to strengthen the small Jackson, Mississippi church.
A church was planted in Jackson, Mississippi in 2001 but had dwindled down to a handful of members. Sidney Dockery kept a vision for rebuilding the church, asking for disciples to come help restart the ca
mpus ministry. Rose, a disciple in the Greater Hartford Church of Christ, and Kathy from the South Florida Church of Christ, saw the appeal on Disciple Adventures, registered and moved to Jackson for the summer.

On the other side of the world, One-Year Challenge volunteers have planted a new underground church in China! Lucas, who had become a Christian in the Seattle church’s campus ministry, answered the call and joined the initial team, which used English-speaking disciples to reach out to some of China’s best university students.“Serving God on a foreign mission was one of the most memorable, faith-building experiences of my life,” Lucas said. “We had a blast with our friends at game nights, ultimate frisbee matches, and other fun events.” Before returning to the U.S. after a year in China, Lucas helped baptize a young man studying International Trade at the university he where he taught English.
“It was and always will be the best spiritual decision I ever made,” Lucas shared. “I can’t wait to do it again.”
Back in the U.S., the new Auburn, Alabama church planting has grown 
rapidly from 22 disciples at the start of 2011, with 12 baptisms already this year. Laura of the Gainesville Christian Church learned of the opportunity to help on Disciple Adventures, and then moved to Auburn in August of this year.

It’s fantastic!”
All these young disciples have heard the call and are living a life of adventure for God. Will you follow in the steps of Lucas, Laura, Rose and Kathy? The whole world is waiting!
